Eucalyptus kochii (Australia):

The active  constituent in Eucalyptus oil is Eucalyptol, also known as 1,8 cineole, a monoterpene compound naturally produced in the leaves. Recent research indicates that Eucalyptol inhibits the Main protease (Mpro) bonding process which enables rapid spreading of recent variants of respiratory infections.

This new offering, Eucalyptus kochii,  contains significantly more eucalyptol than other varieties: 92.8%ile compared with 65%ile for other Eucalyptus varieties), making it a highly effective safe bacteria-buster: antiviral, antibacterial & antimolecular essential oil, excellent for fighting against and/or preventing respiratory infections.

History of Eucalyptus family: All Eucalyptus varieties originated in Australia, and have been exported throughout the world primarily during the last 100 years. The first commercial exports occurred in 1789, with Eucalyptus globulus being the most frequently used variety, which is currently primarily produced in and exported from China. Millions of acres of Eucalyptus kochii trees were planted as an intercropping solution amongst the wheat fields of Western Australia during the 1990's, and these trees have now become a commercially sustainable source of Eucalyptus oil, important for sinus and respiratory conditions, including asthma, cough, COPD and influenza.

Its smell and taste are somewhat different from Eucalyptus globulus, being somewhat more earthy &  grassy tasting. 

Current test-tube research (March 30, 2020) indicates that Eucalyptol (1,8 cineole) from Eucalyptus essential oil molecularly docks with Mpro protein of coated viruses, suppressing their growth. Further research is needed to determine how these invitro findings might be applicable for people in real-life situations. - Sharma & Kaur, (See Reference below).
