Scotch Pine (Pinus sylvestris) is like the violin and Black Pine (Pinus nigra) is like the stand-up bass. The Black Pine provides timber, resonance, depth, breadth. The Scotch Pine is like the lightning bolt up the middle. Scotch Pine is more medicinal-like, whereas the Black Pine has the texture, the depth and breadth, the lusciousness. In the Earth Angel blends, the two pines are often combined for a fuller experience — two voices of the same instrument.

• For Nervous Depression, Pine balances the Hypothalamic-Pancreas Axis and Hypothalamus/Pituitary/Adrenal glands, stimulates the adrenals and circulatory system (Terpene). This oil has also been found to be helpful for autism.
• Strengthening Nerve Tonic; Increases Bioelectric Energy, Physical Energy: Turns away negative thoughts (paranoia) and increases self-confidence, courage and perseverance. Use 5 parts Scotch Pine (Pinus sylvestris), 1 Angelica, 3 Lemon.
• For glandular and circulatory stimulant and/or nervous exhaustion, use Pine with Angelica, and any Phenol, such as Clove, Cinnamon, Thyme or Oregano. Be careful to not use pine and phenols daily for long periods of time, as overuse can damage the kidneys.
