Safe Bacteria Busters - the Myrtaceae Family
Respiratory, Lung, Emotional & Metabolic Balance – great for ADHD, diabetes, antiviral protection, skin healing, & pain relief.
Turquoise Chakra 4.5 – Beginning of Spiritual Awakening
Essential oils in the Myrtaceae family contain 1,8 cineole, a monoterpene which is antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anti-mucous, antispasmodic, hypotensive and increases cerebral blood flow. They are mostly from trees grown in Australia, New Zealand and Madagascar – close to the equator.Click here.
These oils are in three major groups: The Eucalyptols, the Melaleucas (TeaTrees), and the Clove/Allspice group (Eugenol/Caryophyllene).
The Myrtaceae family is mostly affordable, and these oils are ideal for airborne applications (diffusers, spritzers), as analgesics to reduce swelling and muscle spasms, and for anointing/daily wear. Their antispasmodic benefits make them useful for massage, pain relief, and respiratory relief (coughing, asthma and sinus infections).
Oils in the Myrtaceae family also help to oxygenate the brain, enhance memory and mental functioning, increase circulation to the brain and the body, and balance the seretonin level. These oils bring energy to the thymus, which has both physical and spiritual importance – physically for immune support, and spiritually as the seat of the soul, the doorway for spiritual awakening – referred to as Chakra 4.5, the Turquoise chakra. They also bring energy throughout the core, where deep healing takes place.
We carry five excellent varieties of Eucalyptus, all of which have varying proportions of 1,8-cineole, a-pinene & limonene; and four Melaleucas (Tea Tree family).

The Tea Tree family is particularly good to heal wounds and skin infections, because it contains a significant proportion of terpinen-4-ol, which is antibacterial and antifungal. In addition, all the Melaleucas are antimicrobial, antiseptic, and antiviral.

Myrtle could be described as the queen of the Myrtaceae family – It is brightening, uplifting, and assists the thyroid. Myrtle contains a-pinene, limonene, cineole & geranyl acetate.

Clove Bud, Clove Leaf and Allspice contain significant proportions of eugenol (about 80%), with caryophyllene. Allspice also contains cineol and phellandrene. Clove needs to be used in small amounts with other oils, as it can irritate the skin.
