Scotch Pine (Pinus sylvestris) is like the violin and Black Pine (Pinus nigra) is like the stand-up bass. The Black Pine provides timber, resonance, depth, breadth. The Scotch Pine is like the lightning bolt up the middle. Scotch Pine is more medicinal-like, whereas the Black Pine has the texture, the depth and breadth, the lusciousness.
